Sightseeing

Located between the Mediterranean shore and the higher hills of the VAR district, Le BEAUSSET, is a typical south of France little town numbering nearly 8000 inhabitants, which gracefully blends  tradition with modernity.

“Lis Aludo” will be an ideal starting point for a lot of  activities, such as the Bandol wine road,visit to the olive groves, the numerous nearby  beaches,and the many cultural venues of our district.

Within a  15 mn drive:

  • visit  medieval  Le  CASTELLET and the typical provencal village of La CADIERE.
  • BANDOL its beaches and wine tasting Vinotheque, In addition a number of the 56 wine producers offer visits of their  grounds and wine making methods.
  • SAINT-CYR: “calanques” , family beach and the  wonderful 18 holes of the  “Dolce Fregate” international  golf club

Within a  30 mn drive:

  • TOULON: stroll through the old city and visit  the military harbour with a boat tour in our beautifully sheltered bay. Lovely green shaded beaches at “le Mourillon”. Enjoy breathtaking scenery from the “Faron” hilltop, which you can reach either by road or a lovely cable car ride. There the IInd world war memorial museum awaits you as well as  zoo, well known for its specializing in rearing furry mammals such as lions, tigers and the like.
  • MARSEILLE: Second town of France and the largest by its sheer area, after   Arles. Notable landmarks are  “Notre Dame de la Garde”with a wonderful view over town and nearby islands , the old Harbor, the Château d’If .
  • AUBAGNE: “Santons”
  • CASSIS: The famous rocky inlets and “calanques”

One day trip:

  • The “Golden Isles” off the coast of Hyeres, among which the national marine parc of Port Cros and lovely pedestrian Porquerolles.
  • The  THORONET abbey and its wonderful  cistercian buildings and remarquable accoustic
  • The basilica at SAINT MAXIMIN. La SAINTE BAUME, land of kingly pilgrimages since  Louis The IXth.
  • World renowned ST TROPEZ. COGOLIN, RAMATUELLE
  • Les GORGES du VERDON, our very own miniature but nevertheless magnificent Grand Canyon.
  • GRASSE and its perfume factories. Brand new perfume museum opened this year.
  • ANTIBES, its fortification, old town and nearby Marine Land parc.

  • AVIGNON:   the City of POPES; Arles and la CAMARGUE, regional natural parc
